Hugh Stump, executive director of Greater Gadsden Area Tourism, said in a news release that the organizers are the same ones who stage the East Tennessee Fishing Show and Expo, which draws upward of 35,000 visitors to the Knoxville Expo Center each February.

Stump said Gadsden officials have attended that show for years with presentations about bass fishing, Neely Henry Lake and trout fishing at Noccalula Falls.

“Once The Venue was open,” he said, “we started talking with the show promoter about the possibility of bringing a show and expo to Gadsden.”

The new event will feature vendors from across the United States, displaying products of interest to anglers. They’ll include bass and pontoon boats, clothing, custom lures, fishing rods and tackles, kayaks, marine electronics and various fishing accessories. A list is available at https://bit.ly/3JhTHEK.

Noted bass, catfish and trout anglers will present seminars: Glen Cappelear, Aaron Churchwell, Mike DalVisco, Will Davis Jr., Stacy Gaston, Matt Herren, Wes Logan, Coley McGowan, Josh Panyard, Dan Perry and Frank Roden. A schedule is available at https://bit.ly/3kS6t3y.

There will be a trout pond for children; and on Saturday, the Coosa Riverkeeper will hold beginning fishing classes for kids at noon and 3 p.m. There also will be on-the-water boat and kayak demonstrations, and various prizes and giveaways.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Daily tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children ages 6-12; kids under 6 get in free. They can be purchased in advance at https://bit.ly/3IU8299.
