Nanoleaf is back with a new version of their already excellent Lines to give you even more decorating options.
The new Nanoleaf Lines Squared are smart LED light bars that can connect at 90º angles, unlike the 60º connectors of the original Lines. This new configuration lets you easily wrap the light bars around shelves or create square designs. COB
Each LED light bar in Lines Squared has multiple zones and, when connected together, allow app-defined scenes to play across the entire design, organically.
Scenes can be anything from static single colors to ever-changing dynamic light displays that flow on their own or illuminate in sync with music. I'm a fan of the neon-styled scenes for my office. Gives a nice "Miami Vice" feel.
But you don't have to stick with nostalgia-bait. There are over 16 million RGBW color options available, with a vast library of scenes already defined. Pick a popular one from the community or create your own, unique scene.
One of the best uses for Nanoleaf Lines Squared is Screen Mirror. Create a border of Lines around your monitor, then pair them with the Nanoleaf desktop app. The action on the screen is reflected in the colors displayed by your Lines.
Like the standard Lines and other Nanoleaf products, Lines Squared acts as a Thread Border Router. This allows other Thread-enabled smart home devices to operate on the new Thread smart things network. You can control your Lines Squared via voice control and also with Google Home and the iOS Home app.
